I Was a Soldier in World War 1

Lest we forget ❤️

I Was a Soldier in World War 1

I was a soldier in World War 1
It robbed me of my years
But now my spirit cannot rest
My eyes are filled with tears

Because still the world is fighting
Tell me, why weren’t lessons learned?
Don’t sacrifice this wondrous world
For you all I am concerned

Make love, not war, the saying goes
The sentiment rings true
If I could rid the world of hate
I’d make a better world for you

I was a soldier in World War 1
Don’t let me have died in vain
Please stop all wars, make peace, live life
So that I can rest again
