If My Dog Could Talk

If I was granted one wish that my dog could talk
Even for just five minutes a day
Just imagine the joy and the pleasure we’d share
I’m sure she’d have so much to say

I could tell her I love her and hear her reply
As I snuggle her close to my chest
She could offload her worries to me every day
So, her mind would be always at rest

If I had to go out, I could clearly explain
There is no need to worry or fret
As I’ll always rush home as fast as I can
To be with my wonderful pet

I could ask how she’s feeling, does she have any pain
As it’s so hard to guess all the time
I’d listen intently as she chatted away
What a concept, its simply divine

What an honour to share, such a friendship, so rare
The love between man and his dog
If you grant me my wish, for five minutes a day
My mind would be truly agog.
