Muddy Puddles (Dog Style)

This poem I believe speaks for itself…. I hope you enjoy.x

Muddy Puddles (Dog Style)

We love all muddy puddles,
the filthy ones are best.
Such fun to squelch and splash around
as we put them to the test.

That lovely, mucky substance
just oozing through our toes.
The blissful waft of grubbiness
sweet smelling to our nose.

To wallow in such slime and grunge,
a most ecstatic treat.
Then shake it off and start again,
with four muddy sodden feet.

A dust bath is so passé,
it’s second best at most.
Why opt for sand, or soil, or earth,
when there’s matter far more gross?

The smell of stagnant puddles
is a magnet to a dog.
That beautiful aroma
of a fast decaying bog.

Whether Labrador or Terrier
a mud bath is supreme.
To jump right in and roll around
would be our perfect dream.
