Pockets full of nothing

My own imagination a palette clear and bright,
My world of dreams to make unwind right here, within my sight,
Not owning but a penny but the fleeting song I sing,
But yet, with life before me I am richer than a King.

My dreams and thoughts enfold me, hold me deep and hold me fast,
A cowboy once, a soldier, or a sailor at the mast,
A hero, or a villain, a superman or more,
Or the dreamer in the moonlight, who wandered by the shore.

I had all this to live you see, this dream to use to make me, – ‘me’,
No time was set aside to even think of misery,
I had this wealth within my heart, my little plans and schemes,
With, ‘Pockets full of nothing, – but a head that`s full of dreams!’
