RA

I’d like to share a poem I wrote 20 years ago in the middle of an horrendous RA flare up. I remember it so well and is very relevant for me today.

A is for arthritis a bit of a pain,
B Is for bones they must take the strain,
C is for crying we do it a lot,
D is for drugs they must hit the spot,
E is for exercise, we have to do some,
F is for fear of what is to come,
G is for gout, just another pain,
H is for health the name of the game,
I is for invalid I try not to be,
J is for joint, movements the key,
K is for kisses, we still need their touch,
L is for love we all need so much,
M is misery the condition can cause,
N is for night, I slept lets applause,
O is for occupational therapy, get in on their talks,
P is for physio, it hurts but it works,
Q is for questions, we have lots of these,
R is for Rheumatoid an inflammatory disease,
S is for surgery a necessary need,
T is tired or is it fatigue
U is for ugly I try not to see,
V is for versatile I find I must be,
W is for water,hydrotherapy dream
X is x-ray to see the unseen,
Y is for young, they get it as well,
Z is for zest, I make it my quest.
