This amusing poem was written by Don Read …

 

STRICTLY

I applied to do dancing on “Strictly”
But my friends said I hadn’t a chance
Although I’m an octageranium (sic)
doesn’t mean I’m unable to dance

But then they announced a new TV show
It’s called “Strictly Come Walking Ever So Slow”
I thought nothing ventured I’d give it a go
I won, I’m fantastic at walking incredibly slow

Now I’m rich and successful and covered in fame
Thanks to my gold, sequined sparkling low tech Zimmer frame
