The Reason for the Season

The Reason for the Season

Many, many years ago, this glorious world began,
And after God created it, He then created man.
He created pure perfection, and it was very good
But sadly man did not respect creation as he should.

We’ve spent our lives destroying all that He has made,
And ‘though we have abandoned God, He himself has stayed.
No longer here amongst us, but in the heavens above,
And in this special season we should celebrate his love.

For Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and died at Calvary,
To pay the price for all our sin, for all eternity.
So as Christmas day approaches, take a moment to reflect,
The debt we owe to Jesus is a debt He won’t collect.

His finished work is done for us, and we can surely know,
If we have our trust in him, He’ll never let us go.
