The Truth – by me

The Truth – by me

The place where everyone knows
And people want to go
World famous and it’s loved
For us we’ve had enough.

Expense and rising costs
Tax money that we’ve lost
And what’s it all been for
No promises at our door.

Arrivals by the thousands
And nowhere we can house them
Still come along our shores
When will we close the doors

Homeless, starving, living rough
A life that’s here. A life that’s tough.
No help or sanction for our kind
The look of streets and how they’re lined.

Appointment systems crashing down
No medical help. No doctor in town
Weeks and months are all we now hear
No improvements are made, year after year.

Standing together, joined forces that strike
Not happy in the job, you should take a hike
Demanding for change increase in wage
Protests and placards, all that were staged.

Mental health, depression, and more
Are a rising concern we cannot ignore
Treatments and services stretched to the brink
Another one of systems that’s about to sink

Property and homes that cost the earth
Paying too much than what it is worth
The ladders too high to get on board
Young families with children and what they can afford.

These facts I’ve described it’s here it’s today
It’s reality and form that won’t go away
The place I speak of is England and cost
The country we won, but now we have lost

UK at it’s finest, such riches here
Tourists flock to our country, year after year
If only they knew, but blinded by sight
Underneath its cover, our future our plight.
