To All The Carers In This World

As it is Carers Week I thought I would dedicate this poem to their dedication, kindness and thank them for all that they do for so many people whose lives could be so much worse without such wonderful support from these amazing men and women:

To All The Carers In This World

I had a visitor just now
It filled my heart with glee
Somebody actually took the time
To spend a while with me

We had a lovely natter
Over a cup of rosy lee
She tidied round my house
And even changed my bed for me

She helped me with my tablets
As I sometimes get confused
And I shared with her my stories
Oh, she did look so amused

She washed my hair so caringly
And helped me to get dressed
She scurries round so quickly
I’m always so impressed

She keeps me up to date
On what’s going on in town
Her stories perk me up no end
And stop me from feeling down

She even sorts my washing out
And helps me fold my sheets
She really is my favourite
No one else truly competes

Ok, so she’s my carer
But also, a special friend
I’m lucky to have her in my life
On her I can depend

To all the carers in this world
You’re worth your weight in gold
You enrich our lives so much
And are a pleasure to behold

Thank you for caring X
