What did I do?

What did I do?

I thought it started at the Barbecue
That all the family were invited to,
But no, when I now think back
That wasn’t the angle of attack

It was first clear,
Around New Year
That the feeling started.
I’d tried to help but maybe too much
Perhaps it should have been a lighter touch.

Either way, no matter what
Even paying for her haircut
It is now clear
As we passed New Year
That my copy book was blotted.

A sniping word and evil eye
first began the hue and cry.
As words were screamed and people stared
I knew for sure her thoughts had aired.

So it began to be quite clear
as we are now at close of year
The penny had now dropped.
So here I sit my nerves a mess,
I don’t ever think you see distress.

I am now marked out as quite evil
After all the mass upheaval.
It now becomes so very clear
As it was around New Year.
My presence is not welcome.
