Your Mother

Your Mother

Who do you call when you’re feeling down?
Who would you choose to come around?
Who makes a smile from a sad-faced frown?
Your mother.

Who gives you love without complaint?
Who offers help without constraint?
Who acts just like a patron saint?
Your mother.

Who protects you from life’s’ disarray?
Who keeps the demons far away?
Who never turns and walks away?
Your mother.

Who watches you as you change and grow?
Who loves you always even though?
Who tries to keep the status quo?
Your mother.

Who asks for nothing in return?
Who aids you in your quest to learn?
Who always shows a real concern?
Your mother.

Who always gives you time and space?
Who helps you when you fall from grace?
Who’s always ready just in case?
Your mother.

Who has the biggest, kindest heart?
Who makes the tastiest apple tart?
Who’s loved you from the very start?
Your mother.

Who gives you things she never had?
Who strokes your hair when you’re feeling sad?
Whose care for you is ironclad?
Your mother.

Who holds you in such high esteem?
Who supports you in your latest scheme?
Who helps you grasp your greatest dream?
Your mother.

Now tell her that you love her so,
don’t let that special moment go.
Just hug her tight to let her know
then watch that pride within her grow.
