Goodwood

Set in the heart of the South Downs, Goodwood has been the seat of the Dukes of Richmond and Gordon for more than 300 years. In its early days, the 1st Duke of Richmond bought what we now know as Goodwood House as somewhere to stay when he and his illustrious friends were hunting across this spectacular sporting Estate.

Nowadays, Goodwood has much more to offer; it is at the forefront of international sporting events in horseracing and motorsport and famed for the Qatar Goodwood Festival, affectionately known as Glorious Goodwood and its international motor sport events, Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.  It also hosts PGA golf tournaments on its two championship courses and welcomes guests to its beautifully refurbished 91-bedroom hotel. The extensive leisure facilities within the Health Club and relaxing treatments available at The Waterbeach combine with two restaurants serving award-winning organic, Estate-reared produce and other locally sourced ingredients to create the perfect destination for a short break.

At the heart of this beautiful Estate is Goodwood House. Set in picturesque parkland, its meticulously restored State Apartments are open to visitors from March to October with a magnificent collection of art and furniture on display. Across the estate take in extraordinary experiences such as learning to fly at the historic Goodwood Aerodrome or follow in the in the tyre tracks of legends in your dream car on the Goodwood Motor Circuit.  The UK’s newest fine driving experience is now available.   Drive 4×4 Off Road where Dukes once rode across 12,000 acres of ancient woodland, stopping off for Butler served afternoon tea.  Or speed along in pursuit of racing heroes with our Performance Track experience on the legendary Goodwood circuit.
