Do you still consider overseas travel a good use of your money?
What’s more important, to save your money or go on holiday?
This is a question people ask themselves when it comes to precious disposable income. But how important are our overseas experiences to life, health and wellbeing?
Most people would agree that the world is a wonderful place, which could offer us enriching life experiences – but is it possible to put a value on these?
Staycations in Britain have seen an uplift, while overseas travel has proved less of a priority for many. There are a number of possible reasons – the uncertainty around Brexit, the threat of terrorism, and in the case of the USA, possibly even a ‘Trump Effect’.
Is overseas travel still a priority for you or do you consider it more important to save your money? How important is it to experience other places and broaden your horizons? Share your thoughts and feedback below at Speakers Corner.

None of us know how long we have so I say make the most of it, go wherever takes your fancy.
I am nigh on 65 yrs of age and there are just as many thing in this country that i have not seen just as there are things abroad that i have not seen.
Viking hit the nail on the head when our weather was mentioned, if we had the same amount of sunshine as Spain, we may as well sit on a beach here and spend our cash amongst the local shops, bars and Theater etc.
Having travelled Europe and Eastern Europe extensively we prefer to stay at home. Secluded, peaceful and very rural. It suits us well.
On holiday after a day or two you can actually slowdown and have fun. A must for everyone!
Having just spent 4 days in the west of this country, it was very sad to watch families have to endure the rain and mist trudging around to find something/somewhere to amuse their children on holiday.
The weather here seems to bring out the sadness in people, so maybe spend more time abroad, if it can be afforded, and be happy!
There is also the point that holidaying in the UK is much more expensive for the same standard of Hotel and Service which we have become used to by travelling abroad where the Holiday industry’s their main industry.and they don’t object to serving people well and not thinking it is beneath them as many UK citiIzens do.
