Would you like it to snow at Christmas?
To add to the craziness of 2020 the Met Office believe there may be more chance of snow at Christmas than usual this year.
The chance of widespread snow on 25th December is usually pretty slim in the UK and with climate change resulting in higher temperatures the odds are even lower.
But for those who are wishing for a white Christmas it’s not time to give up hope as they do still occasionally happen, and we may well see one in 2020.
Our last official white Christmas was in 2010, when snow was widespread across Northern Ireland, Scotland, parts of Wales, the Midlands, the north east and far south west England but could we see one again this year?
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes certainly thinks so. “It’s looking likely we’ll be waking up to the white stuff on Christmas Day as temperatures continue to tumble to snowfall territory.”
Ladbrokes say the latest bets show the odds of snow falling on 25th December in the UK are 5/4.
With the Met Office predicting a colder than average winter in the UK and Ireland, some of us may well get our wish!

Needless to say though it wasn't me who took them out to play in the snow.
I’ve also recently swapped my super sensible Audi for a huge pickup with raised suspension and tyres that come up to my waist. Just didn’t want a grannybus I suppose. Now I want to try it out!
I'd just love to see my eighteen month old Collie bitch see snow for the first time and making sense of it; having a fine time with the old boy who'll remember it well. A walk hand in hand with my dear lady and a hot dinner afterwards.
A fine and beautiful ending to a miserable year.
