Well here it is; this section of Silverhairs is dedicated to “Extreme” holidays and adventures. Many people in their 50’s and 60’s still go skiing, mountaineering, diving, mountain biking, sailing and most of all hiking. My father in his 70’s was still climbing mountains!
Dream Extreme is going to feature amazing activities and trips and give you details about how to book them yourself. DOLOMITES
Some of our Dream Extremes are very adrenaline fuelled such as climbing the Via Ferrata (Italian for Iron Road) in the stunning Italian Dolomite Mountains www.visitdolomites.com/en, others are more sedate such as hiking the Lycian Way in Turkey which has beautiful views as it winds around the Mediterranean coast www.lycianway.com.

Have you ever tried mountain biking? It’s fun and keeps you amazingly fit and you don’t have to be Sir Chris Hoy to enjoy it! There are places all over England and friendly instructors you can find online. Surrey has some of the best at Box Hill where the Olympic Cycle race took place and nearby Leith Hill in Dorking. Sailing up the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia is more sedate and a wonderful adventure in this yachting paradise. There are rugged islands all along the mountainous coast with lovely small fishing ports to enjoy a well earned rest. SAILING IN CROATIA
How about driving in the great outdoors of the USA. Arizona has to be one of the most stunning destinations in the USA. It’s easy to rent a car and drive from Phoenix (daily flights from Heathrow with British Airways on www.ba.com) through the Sonoran Desert with amazing cactuses and miles of open road. Up through Flagstaff and into the Grand Canyon truly one of the world’s greatest sights.
