Couples can remain together at Richmond Villages Care Nursing Home
For those couples where either one or both are in need of nursing care, Richmond Villages has opened a new two bedroom care apartment within the nursing home at its retirement village at Letcombe Regis, Oxfordshire.
The apartment comprises two separate bedrooms featuring electrically adjustable profiling beds, and both bedrooms have their own en-suite wet room.
There’s also a fully furnished living room with television and DVD player and fitted kitchenette that includes fridge/freezer, tea and coffee making equipment. However, residents are encouraged topersonalise their apartment with photographs, pictures, ornaments and small pieces of furniture to create their own familiar and homely environment.
Particularly appealing to couples where one or both require 24 hour nursing care, the new facility is believed to be the only one of its type in Oxfordshire, and possibly even in the whole of England.
“This new care apartment is ideal for those who want their own living space, yet need care to be delivered on a 24 hour basis with minimum disruption. With two bedrooms, it is ideal where either partner needs nursing care, leaving the other free to enjoy being part of a sociable community where numerous activities are close at hand,” said Paddy Brice, managing director of Richmond Villages.
“We have developed this apartment after being asked by a number of potential clients for nursing care where they can stay together but not just within a twin room.
As a complete apartment within the care home, this means people can still live together in a more independent environment, yet with all the benefits of 24 hour nursing care close at hand,” added Mr Brice.
The cost of the nursing apartment is on a weekly basis, and subject to nursing requirements.
Richmond Letcombe Regis nestles in 36 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds that include lakeside gardens and a nature reserve, small courtyard areas, a kitchen garden for those ‘green fingered’ residents and well tended lawns with borders. It even has its own manicured bowling green.
