Apologies to The Sound of Music

Apologies to The Sound of Music

Teabags that burst when you add the hot water.
Hangovers when you’ve drunk more than you ought’a.
Forgotten old passwords and techno failings.
These are a few of my most hated things

Trying on dresses that make me feel frumpy.
Listening to people who like being grumpy.
Dog poop on pavements and mobile phone pings.
These are a few of my most hated things.

People who walk in shop doorways… then stop.
Pouty pose selfies…..so over the top!
Wannabe singers who really can’t sing.
These are a few of my most hated things.

Cold rainy days on my summer vacation.
Bad grammar, poor spelling, mispronunciation.
Laurel and Hardy, puppets with strings.
These are a few of my most hated things.

Boilers that breakdown on Christmas Day morning.
Workmen that start work just as day is dawning.
Liars and bullies, wasp and bee stings.
These are a few of my most hated things.

When I calm down and I look round
At a world gone mad.
I have to remember some FAVOURITE things
And then I am truly glad.
