First Love?

First Love?

‘Just chill out don’t panic,’ he said as they sat,
Half naked, lips bruised, on his mam’s sheepskin mat
‘You keep telling me I’m your favourite boy,
I won’t get you preggers, just relax and enjoy.

You say that you love me but that can’t be true,
If you did then you’d want this as much as I do.
You’re frigid,’ he scowled, in a voice of disdain.
But Susan was young and afraid of the pain.

They were in the same year but he seemed so mature,
His words and his swagger were meant to assure.
‘I know all about this grown up stuff and sex!”
(And to think all this angst came about from a text.)

The thought of it ending she just couldn’t bear,
She needed a boyfriend, somebody to care.
If sex didn’t happen, Sue knew he’d just run,
And find an unfrigid to give him his fun.

So she gritted her teeth and held back her breath,
And prayed that this pain wouldn’t lead to her death.
But no she survived, the finale came soon,
Lothario sated – he was over the moon.

Then they were a couple, and Susan was smug,
She’d got her first ‘steady'(from his mam’s sheepskin rug).
Complacency left her, when after a while,
The signs were all there; she was, with his child.

And oh dear disaster when he heard the news,
He ran to his mam who was so not amused.
‘You’ve corrupted my lad, and led him astray,
We’ll go on the telly, we’ll get DNA.’

So there they all were with Jeremy Kyle,
Who had the results, (made them wait a long while),
Before he revealed just who was the dad
Of Sue’s sweet lovely innocent, golden-haired lad.

She’d known all along that he was the one,
There was only that once, when all’s said and done.
Lothario cried in his mam’s tattooed arms,
No swagger or backbone. He’d lost all his charms.

I've been married to Rob for 45 years, we have two daughters, five wonderful granddaughters and two naughty dogs. I have lots of interests, I love crocheting, knitting and I've just started a rag-rug! My passion though is writing and I'm very proud to say that I've self-published 2 books, 'Doggie Deliberations' is all about my dog's antics, and '...then I'll begin', is an anthology my jottings. I'm looking forward to being a Silver Surfer and I will enjoy reading other Surfers' writing as well as sending in my own scribbles!
