Forever reborn

Forever reborn

Beautiful colours, a golden delight,
The wonder that nature reveals to our sight,
Bright golden sunshine our morning to meet,
With crisp golden leaves that dance at our feet.

A breeze sets the motion, a whispering sigh,
Will lift natures leaf fall again to the sky,
As light blonded grasses will sway to this tune,
Like a sea – tide controlled by the change of the moon.

Sparse tree top branches where life was a bloom,
Lie resting and sleeping immune to this tune,
Their harvest is given their might soaring high,
As branches sit silent exposed to the sky.

A season is over, another is here,
The turn of the seasons, the change of the year,
A memory of summer still hard in our mind,
And sunshine is lower and harder to find.

A pageant of beauty still here to unfold,
Still green in its heartland with glitters of gold.
And all ever changing with each coming morn,
The wonders of  Autumn – forever reborn!

I am a 71 year old retired coal miner, who spent 30 years working underground. Having time on my hands, and in order to keep my brain exercised, I decided to try to write poetry and put down on paper some of my life experience, and my hopes, dreams and other thoughts. I also do a little gardening, but I am hopeless at housework. Much to my wife's displeasure.
