Halloween

Halloween

There’s ghosties and ghoulies all floating around
the smell of wood burning and loud crackling sounds
Round pumpkin lanterns, young children’s screams
Parents all strolling like well chosen teams
dark scary costumes, long coloured hair
flamboyant makeup, put on with flair

Knocks on the front door, shout’s “trick or treat”
leaving the pathways with baskets of sweets
Roasted potatoes, hot dogs and soup
all shared until later when eye’s start to droop
the weary walk home, it’s bedtime at last
excitement starts waning, but the enjoyments surpassed
