Initiation hoax

Initiation hoax

When I think back
To my pharmacy days
I can’t help but laugh
When I think of this day.

The shop was  busy
Initiation day had come
Time for the oldies
To have some fun.

We need some measurements
To bandage the trunk
Could you ask for the measurement
Then my heart sank.

I called his name
He came to the front
I looked in his eyes
How bigs your trunk.

I think I should have said torso
Or as the French would say, the tronc
After all it was a customer
Not a headless plank.

A lady in shock, dropped her oatmeal soap
The nurse feĺl off her chair
An old man dropped his walking stick
Then he gave me such a glare.

I felt the world had ended
My P45 was in the post
Then everyone started laughing
It was my initiation hoax.
