Journey’s end

Journey’s end

As I near my journey’s end,
I sit and rest a while,
And think about the things we did,
That used to make me smile.

A tender touch, a firm embrace,
Your kiss that set me free,
A knowing look, a furtive glance,
Your love inside of me.

Memories of a time of yore,
When life was full of light,
Of hopes and wishes, hugs and kisses,
And secrets of the night.

Now I tred that final path,
Without you by my side,
A lonely and eternal trek,
With fear I cannot hide.

On and on I walk,
And sometimes rest a while,
And think about the things we did,
That used to make us smile.
