Keep the Faith

 Keep the Faith

Keep the faith, hold the line, just a little longer,
Let the World, heal again, growing ever stronger,
Save the day, hold your stay, keep your spirit bright,
Take away the darkness now, from this eternal night.

Keep your intention, sound and strong,
We soon will sing the Summer’s song,
Defend the ones who fight our cause,
With patience strong and loud applause.

Give it time and let things lie,
We have to let these days pass by,
For better times will come to be,
With better days for you and me.

I am a 71 year old retired coal miner, who spent 30 years working underground. Having time on my hands, and in order to keep my brain exercised, I decided to try to write poetry and put down on paper some of my life experience, and my hopes, dreams and other thoughts. I also do a little gardening, but I am hopeless at housework. Much to my wife's displeasure.
