Life Begins At (Almost) Sixty

They used to say life began at 40, then it was 50. Well for this girl it’s (almost) 60!

Life and circumstances sometimes gang up to stop us doing what we’d really like to but for me, it was all just postponed and now is my time…..

I’m British/Canadian, raised in England, lived in Canada for 15 years then moved back to England. After living in England for almost 24 years I’ve done it again and moved back to Canada a week ago. Excited? Yes Terrified? Most definitely but I’m out to prove you’re never too old for change

I have a son here, my daughter moved back with me and my daughter-in-laws family are very supportive but it does still mean a new country, new job, new friends and a new life. I want to be able to stand on my own two feet, with their support sure but I do not want to be reliant on others

I need to get sorted with a car because I’m already missing the independence of having one! Going to be lots of fun finding my way around, I can pretty much guarantee I’ll get lost a zillion times. Once a job is sorted I’ll need to find a new home for me. Unfortunately I’m not in a position to retire so this is it!

I find it very difficult and uncomfortable going to new places on my own so there are definitely going to be some challenges and hopefully more than just a few laughs as I push myself way outside my comfort zone

The job hunt has started, I’m being open minded about the type of role and also the locational area, within reason so hopefully it won’t take me too long. Someone must want a mature employee with bags of experience across several industries

I’ll keep you posted………….
