The Good Old Days

Those days were far better in general. Even the poor ate fresh foods… not the rubbish found on supermarket shelves these days and in take aways or fast food outlets.. Even though some were not well clothed, charities fed and clothed many children. Children were taught respect, responsibility for their actions and a Biblical understanding of right and wrong. People visited friends houses without knocking on the door and were made welcome. Nowadays that is an invasion of privacy.

Children could go out to play without worry of being molested or beaten up, knifed or whatever. Now they are content to stay at home playing on a computer, as a consequence of which they do not socialise adequately

We didn’t have central heating which causes breathing difficulties in some. Cancer was being contracted at the rate of 1 in 100…. Now it is 1 in 2!!! Couples got married for life, not until one of them became fed up with the other. They worked at making a life together, so divorce was rare. Married couples went out as couples… not with groups of mates where infidelity is a possibility. Men worked and women looked after the home and children.. men were at home with the family in the evenings ..so children had much more time with parents.. The governments themselves work less hard for the people and more to line the pockets of the rich(including themselves). People, in general, did not suffer from depression or mental health problems and there were institutions for those that did. Now such people are placed in Children’s Homes, Homes for the Elderly and occasionally in special hospital wards, all of which are inadequate. Young people no longer want to care for their own elderly relatives. They even fail to visit them when they have been placed in a Home. Many people now use expletives as they don’t have the vocabulary to express themselves without them. I could go on for a lot longer…… but having seen and lived through the degrading of our country and the world I know that things were better all those years ago.

We now live in a world where Christian behaviours and teachings are frowned upon but present the very solution to the problems within the world.
