Life’s Considerations

Life’s Considerations

Shall you be as a sounding brass?
Shall you live without charity
Honesty and decency
Or morality.
With yourself prepossessed
With things material be obsessed
Ignoring the weak and dispossessed.

Shall you forget the basics of humanity
And the basics of Christianity
Shall you consider a fool
He who would live by the unwritten rule
Of civility and courtesy
Long taught in life’s old school.

Or shall you live a life for the common good?
A life filled with compassion
A life filled with love.
