Only One Person

Only One Person

It only took one person
Now the virus is everywhere
It only took one person
Now it’s everyone’s nightmare

Over land and sea and air
Borders are no barrier
It only took one person
Now you could be a carrier

Stay away from people
Stay in and lock your doors
You don’t need all that shopping
Did you even think about the poor

You can’t eat all that food
It will end up in the bin
Are you selfish are you stupid
It really is a sin

Most people do the right thing
They do as they are told
Some people are so greedy
You would think baked beans were gold

So here we are in lockdown
Inventing things to do
It’s not so very difficult
It’s only for a month or two

Will the world ever be the same
No don’t pick up your gun
We should all work together
The world could be so much fun

I have left work due to chronic health problems. I used to love walking especially along the coast on holiday, arthritis has stopped me doing that. I live on my own, I used to have two rescue cats but due to Asthma they have had to be rehomed. I enjoy reading and I am interested in photography and geology/Paleontology especially micro fossils. I am really proud to have discovered two new species. When you have problems you discover who are your true friends. It is so easy to get depressed when you have difficulty in getting out and about. Now I have been inspired to write poetry.
