People will remember 2020

People will remember 2020

Yes we will remember lockdown
where we often wore a frown
for cannot see your kith or kin
Don’t go around for you will not get in.

Do not stand too close to strangers
2 metres apart or it could mean danger.
Going food shopping is a pain
not with family, you have to refrain.

Older people over 70, have to isolate
They cannot even go past the garden gate
Roads are quieter, not too many cars
Restaurants are closed included the bars

Home schooling now has become the norm
For all schools are closed, no uniforms.
People in debt, so many out of work
Men and women sharing housework.

Children filling windows with rainbow pictures
helped at home by brothers and sisters
So many people exercising at home
Not as a group, but all alone

For those who are giving us all assistant
We stand and clap for the front line workers,
some day we are sad for the sun is not shining
But please do not give up. Because we are winning

Stay safe, stay in, you are doing your part
until the world heals and we have a fresh start,
We will remember, those who lost their lives
while we also remember, those who survived.

Our lives will never be the same again
For I do not think we really comprehend
What is really happening in 2020
when our world close down and we had time a plenty
