The Wedding

THE WEDDING

The time has come for both of them to enter married bliss

They’ve said the vows exchanged the rings and sealed it with a kiss

The bridesmaid walks behind the bride dressed like a small princess

The bride is looking beautiful in her white wedding dress

The ceremony over, the register is signed

Down the aisle the couple walk, smiling hand in hand

Next it is the photographs of family and friends

Everyone must stand together and smile at the lens

Then off to the reception, it’s time to celebrate

The speech’s read, the toast is said, the couple cut the cake

Next to carry on tradition the bouquet must be thrown

They say the one to catch it will next wear a wedding gown

I am about to retire so will have more time on my hands. I enjoy the 2 border terriers we have and walking them. I love to write poems and have written several for friends and also used to write a leaving poem for members of staff that left work.
