Walking in the Countryside

Walking in the Countryside

The wind blowing gently,
Clouds sailing across the sky,
Looking up and squinting,
The bright sun in my eye.

Flowers bow their heads,
As insects begin to dance,
Bees gather nectar,
Lambs skip and prance.

Birds take to singing,
Larks from way up high,
Buzzards slowly circle,
And we hear their mournful cry.

Quacking of the ducks,
Grunting of a sow,
Naying of a horse,
Lowing of a cow.

Walking down the hedgerows,
There’s beauty everywhere,
Smiling to myself,
As I haven’t got a care.
