Easter Egg Chocolate Bark

This is the quickest and easiest treat to make this Easter, especially if you have grandchildren visiting – they can help make it with you!

There is no hard and fast rule about the decorations you use – below is our suggestion.

Ingredients:

  • 3 x 100g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 50g white chocolate, chopped
  • 90g Mini or micro eggs
  • 90g Malteser rabbits or similar
  • 90g  Other mini easter sweets
  • Sprinkles of your choice

Instructions::

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Make sure the parchment paper extends slightly over the edges of the baking sheet for easy removal later.
  • Place the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate. If you prefer, melt the chocolate over simmering water.
  • Pour the melted milk chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly into a thin layer on the parchment paper.
  • Melt the white chocolate in the same way as above.
  • Using a spoon, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the milk chocolate layer in a zigzag pattern, and then use a skewer to blend the two chocolates to create a marbled effect.
  • While the chocolate is still melted, sprinkle the assorted Easter egg miantures and any other desired toppings evenly over the chocolate bark. You can press them lightly into the chocolate to ensure they stick.
  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until the chocolate is completely set and firm.
  • Once the chocolate bark has set, remove it from the refrigerator.
  • Use your hands or a knife to break the bark into bite-sized pieces.

Storage:

  • Store any leftover Easter egg chocolate bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Make sure to separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
