Alone

This touching and poignant poem is written by Mike Rose …

Alone

I lost my wife to the Big C
Now I am lonely as can be
Time alone I spend at home
There is no fun in being alone

Most days are the same
Locked in the house with a computer game
Time is wasted, time is lost
This alone must be the cost

I do some archery and play guitar
Some respite from lonely these are
Friends and family they hardly call
What if I die, what if I fall

Well life must go on
What if I’m lonely and on my own
No one can change it
But me alone.
