Hospital Stay

Hospital Stay

I’ve packed my bag and off I go
Going on holiday? No, oh no!
Hospital is my destination
Got to have an operation.

Up on the ward I look around
Anxious faces smile then frown.
Get undressed now, you’re down first
But I  need the loo before I burst!

So where’s my bed? I ask the nurse
You don’t need one if you’re down first,
Before I’ve chance to say but when
A voice booms out, you ready then?

It’s all done now and it went well
But was I in heaven or maybe hell?
No not at all I’m in my bed
Are you awake? My daughter said.

Eyes half open, legs like lead
It’s, up you get must make your bed,
Then I’m up, were on our way
The end of just another day!!
