Pandemic

Pandemic

A virus has spread across our world
It didn’t ask permission!
It crept invisibly, on and on
As though twas on a mission.

Taking no prisoners, no respect
Tore cruelly through our land
Causing grief and heartache
And orders to ‘ wash our hands’.

Our world went into lockdown
And life’s so different now,
What will our future hold for us
When will this end and how?

Then through the veil of hopelessness
Small rays of hope appear,
Change is starting to take place
There’s hope and not just fear.

Animals and environment flourish
People join forces and share,
We pull together working hard
And treat each other with care.

So there’s no cure around right now
We’ll soon see one I pray,
And when this nightmare’s over
We’ll give thanks to a brand new day.
