Silence

Silence fills the world
No voices are risen
People follow like lambs
Evil is upon the world
If one voice shouts then
No one hears but if
a million voices shout then
someone will hear.

Will the world go softly into the night never to return or
Will the people shout into the silence and raise up against
Injustice and persecution.
Nothing changes if we sit back because it’s easy to do.
Our voices must object loudly in the silence.
And hope for daylight to return.
