How about that weather yesterday Mother Nature is toying with us again
All we could do is look at it with distain
Springtime in the prairies the gardening gurus insist
Is challenging as frigid temperatures persist

Eager gardeners are ready with their trowel in hand
To get busy with the bedding out displays they’ve planned
Those fragile beauties won’t survive until the risk of frost is gone
Planting before May long weekend here is definitely wrong

Faithful perennials are hardy and are a welcome sight to see
Appearing in our flower beds among last years plant debris
Tidy up your garden discard unwelcome weeds and overgrowth
Consider yard decor for security and style like solar lights that offer both

Soon it will be time to plant our flowers so lovingly protected
Hang those beautiful baskets of annuals creating our oasis as expected
Lounge on our patio furniture enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine
Drink in the miracle of nature exquisitely sublime
