Autumn is a great time of year to get stuck in to a little seasonal baking. As the seasons change, it brings with it a whole new range of tastes, from cinnamon and spice to seasonal fruits and toffee flavours.
Here, we round up our favourite autumnal recipes for you to try out, featuring both savoury and sweet options, so don that apron and get cooking up a storm in no time.
A firm Yorkshire favourite
There’s something quite special about enjoying a piece of homemade Yorkshire Parkin with a cup of tea on an autumnal afternoon. With this recipe, you can make your very own within just two hours, and enjoy the sticky, aromatic, delicious flavours that ensue. This recipe makes about 14 pieces. Make sure you keep it in an air-tight container as its sticky texture will develop over the next couple of days.
One for a rainy day
When the weather’s a little glum out, getting the oven on and baking a pie not only makes your home smell incredible, but gives you a hearty, filling dish to look forward to at the end of the day. This recipe for Corned Beef Hash is packed with veg, a dash of Worcester Sauce and a sprinkle of nutmeg, aso bring out those seasonal spice flavours and tuck in to a delicious pie this season – big enough to serve 6 people, there’ll be plenty to go around!

This recipe for Baked Stuffed Apples is a great one to have in your armoury for the unexpected dinner guest. They’re quick and easy to make, and you can mix up the filling to suit individual tastes if need be. Serve with mixed salad for a tasty starter or light lunch.
