Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget

The call to arms was answered they signed up so valiantly
To fight to protect their kith and kin from abject tyranny
The peace treaty signed by the allied forces after WW1
Preticipated global events until 21 years later  WW2 had begun

Six years of unbridled hell ensued its consequences remain today
Turf wars are still waging as refugees are forced to run away
Presently a global pandemic has stolen lives and liberty
As we fight to control the covid virus for all humanity

Today as we bow our heads to honour veterans throughout history
Remembering they gave up their tomorrow’s so selflessly
Let us rise above our differences treat each other respectfully
Ever thankful to live in a beautiful country true North strong and free
