Tick Tock

This thought provoking poem is written by Irene Kerr …

Tick Tock

The older the vine better the wine
Aged fiddles sweeter their tune,
Not in our case time lessens the pace
With each passing phase of the moon.

Once passed our lips goes straight to our hips
The evidence easy to see,
Without hesitation or moderation
The bigger we’re likely to be.

Our expanding girth a subject of mirth
Overeating is likely the cause,
We need to get fitter do not be bitter
Each step will be met with applause.

There’s no magic pill it’s all about will
With that there’s always a way,
We know what to do need no diet guru
We’ll feel so much better each day.

So face the truth and reclaim some youth
Get rid of each extra pound,
Then frisky at sixty may not be so risky
To enjoy  another day above ground.
