Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withBless you my dear.If you go back to the very start there are loads of instructions ( you need a degree to totally understand them!) but my new friend must have understood as everything has been ok from the beginning.Try hard and if you crack it come back to me as I would like to keep in touchViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withBingo!found you again. This is a bit like hide and seek don’t you think? I was married for thirty four years to Bill a lovely guy eighteen years older than me and our two sons are doing us proud.I see Ryan often as he pops up from Northampton and is excellent at doing any odd jobs round the house. My elder son lives in London and does not drive .He and his Italian wife have my two grandchildren.Alessandro is at Prague Uni and Sophia is in London.I have one sister and three nieces so not a huge family but we are all close and do a fortnightly on line get together to hear all the news.As an avid tv watcher I am going to watch Strictly which has been altered to cover the footballHopefully I won’t lose you again.BeanyViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withI am getting into a very bad habit of replying to a chat then somehow losing it before the end and the chance to send it.It’s just happened again and now it’s lunchtime so I’ll see if I’m any better at making a sandwich and eating it THEN I’ll come back and try again.Beany alias Jean.My beloved dad called me Jean Beany but you can choose.ViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withHello AJ weather getting worse May have to think about hibernating! I’m glad my refusal made you laugh but it wasn’t a refusal as such more a query if you want to chat to an old lady (who doesn’t know she is old until the birthday candles appear) I live and have done my whole life in West Midlands, yes I have an awful accent but it won’t be noticeable if we chat in writing eh? See my bio for likes.Have a good day BeanyViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withHello I’m Beany otherwise Jean I responded to your message a few hours ago then lost what I had written so I’ll try again.I am always ready to chat but must tell you I am a lot nearer your Aunts age than to yours.like you I feel I am housebound but it is through choice as I have a history of hurling myself to the ground at regular intervals ( seven) over the years, fortunately never doing any damage either to myself or the hard surfaces I hit( other of course to my pride) When lockdown came along coinciding with me recovering from a cancer operation I felt safer staying indoors so I now only venture outside on the arm of a younger fit relative..If you feel you would like to chat any time do p lease get in touch and we can say how we go eh? Have a good day.ViewDate:

Do you think Camilla should be crowned queen?Charles needs to remember he is head of Church of England when he has flaunted his adultery and what about “whosoever is without sin should cast the first stone” when he has judged Andrew so severelyViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself.I’m in West Midlands close to Birmingham As soon as I speak everyone knows that ! It is an awful accent but we used to be a friendly lot but things are changing now as we are more mixed up.I’m afraid things are not as they used to be everywhere but of course we have to move on and at this time we need A BIG CHANGEto get us all on an even call.ViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withHello Terry happy bonfire night. Thanks for your reply and good wishes. My sister and her husband live in a place such as you describe and she LOVES it, him not so much but obviously it is each to their own and honestly It would not suit me.I would not like joining in with lots of folk for bingo, film night, quizz night etc etc I am extremely happy here in the house I love and have the freedom to do as I please when I please. Now I feel you will have totally the wrong impression of me so I will close now and if you want to keep in touch I hope in time you will learn more about “ the real me” CheersViewDate:

Hello - looking for like minded friends to chat withHi folks ( if anyone is there) I am an 84 year old widow (of many years) and thankfully say I have all my marbles! I am part of a small but close family who keep in touch by What’s App for news and pics but I live alone so do miss a chat.I’m an avid tv watcher of documentaries ranging from crime to cooking and farming to family life but no soaps or silliness. If you have any free time drop me a line or two please.ViewDate:

I Hope...Loved Hope but The Blanket scared me.I have written poems for family occasions for many years now which always seem to come to me very easily once I get a hook line in my mind.My niece has a sixtieth birthday soon and is having a large party in Sydney where she has lived for years. On first thoughts what could I rhyme with Helen, sixtieth, Australia?? Then the first line just popped into my head and off I went Helen is turning sixty, what do you think of that? She lives in lovely Leichhardt with Biscuit her ginger cat. Once I got those lines a whole verse came easily and will be read out at the party so I hope she approves.ViewDate:

The Lister Arms: A countryside retreat to the Yorkshire DalesI always thought Jeremy to be dour and critical especially on Univercity challenge which I love to watch but was brought to tears by his story of coping with Parkinson’s.I admired his stoic acceptance and love that he has joined a bowling club.I’m sure he will enjoy it and I wish him well in his fight to keep going.I hope there will be further shows so we can hear how he is.ViewDate:

Real or Artificial - What kind of Christmas tree will you have? This debate brought back funny memories to me of my sister buying my son " something he could keep" for his first Christmas and deciding on a silver tinsel tree which came in two halves with fold up branches. It used to be wrapped up carefully and fetched out every year when unfortunately bits dropped off so as the years passed the tree looked more and more pathetic and eventually we had to re name it ' the stick'.We sadly disposed of it when my son left home for Uni.ViewDate:

Gallstones - have you had them?Fortunately not Jazzy as I believe the pains can be awful but my dear mom had them donkeys years ago and shortly after coming round a nurse gave her a little pot containing five knobbly grey 'tablets' Mom reached for her glass of water and said " these are a bit big to swallow but I"ll try" Grabbing them back the nurse said " don't do that we have just got them out of you " Yes, they were her gallstones, yuk!!ViewDate:

Just joined so I'm introducing myself. If you are looking to physically meet new friends it is best to tell everyone here if you are male or female, married or single, your age and area in which you live.I am 78, a widow and live in Walsall so would be wasting my time trying to meet with a much younger ,married man from a distance away don't you think? Personally I am blessed with a number of longstanding friends but would always be up for someone feeling lonely if we could meet locally using my trusty bus pass.ViewDate:

Profile picturesYours is great DANYOU14 but there are lots of profiles which don't say male or female and give no idea of age group.I am late 70s and don't expect to have much in common with "youngsters" so have to miss lots of contacts when no idea of age is given. A photo is nice but not necessary ( I haven't put one on my own profile, firstly because I don't know how to and secondly I don't want to frighten the children ! )ViewDate:

One for the potPat your poem about the tea dispenser hung on the wall brought back memories of my dear Auntie Lil who had such a thing but after a couple of days demanded it be fetched down because of " all the mess it makes on the floor" When investigations were made we discovered she was holding a teaspoon under the dispenser not the teapot!ViewDate:

NewbieThere appears to be a number of similar ladies here who are newbies to this site and in need of new friends to chat to.I have two pen friends and love writing long chatty letters but would also enjoy being able to have quick but more frequent exchanges here.I am 77 rushing towards 78 but am young at heart, not too serious,an avid tv fan ( documentaries and reality, not soaps) and always up for a laugh.Lets join together girls and enjoy each other's company.ViewDate:

Who is your favourite British Olympian so far?We watched every bit of tv coverage of the Olympics when my husband was alive ( me not so much now) and our young son aspired to be the person who raised either the white or red flag to indicate the status of the long jump.I have a suspision he thought he would only have to work for a couple of weeks every four years! Thankfully his work ethic changed and he is a hardworking economics professorViewDate:
