Friendly chat

Hi I'm new to this but hoping to have friendly chats with others. I'm retired female, 67 and single. I like walking, reading and just having a bit of a laugh. I've recently moved and have quite a lot to sort out so that's taking up some time. However the evenings can be so long without someone to chat to. Anyone want to get in touch?

Hi John, thanks for taking time to reply. How are you? Are you finding your way round this site ok? I'm not very technically minded and I very nearly gave up.

I haven't done much today except cut the grass before the next deluge of rain comes over. I can't believe it's going to be the longest day tomorrow. This year seems to be flying by.

I've not been here long but the neighbours are friendly which makes things a lot easier. Be nice to hear from you.

Slow day here as well Julie, felt cool really. Hang in there with finding your way around, it's only like moving somewhere new. I spent 20 years working in I.T. so it's not so strange for me.

What happened to 'flaming June', too hot last week on the golf course, back in winter clothing this week 🙂 .
What are your interests? Happy to try and chat about anything you like.

My main interest is walking. I belong to a walking group who meet weekly and another who do a Half Ramble round this area once a month. I belong to a local history group which is starting back up again now that Covid restrictions have been eased. Suprising to find out what's on your doorstep. Other than reading that's about it. I look after my grandson once a week which is my favourite interest.

I agree with you about the weather. Hope it gets better so you can enjoy more rounds of golf.

That's all very nice. Must be a 'senior' thing as I belong to a walking club as well but I hit a golf ball around while I'm walking :-), and usually have a 5 year old granddaughter sleepover / seaside visit at the weekend. Never fails to amaze me how quickly she can ransack the house 🙂
Been cool in Suffolk today, first day of summer as well. Don't suppose we should expect any different really.

Yes walking groups do seem to be a senior thing. But enjoyable when the weather is nice. We didn't walk today, it was too wet. 3 of us just met for coffee and chat. You made me laugh with the comment about your granddaughter. My eldest daughter lives in Cumbria and has 3 children; it's always bedlam there. My youngest girl has a 9 month old boy and lives near me in Essex.

Went to the Botanical Gardens in Cambridge today, what a lovely place, well worth a visit. Fortunately the weather was perfect, next time I'll take a picnic as well.

Sounds like you had nice day. It was lovely today so took the time to do weeding. Had heating enginders here today so didn't go out.
