I got to thinking about my old skiing holidays and how the crowd I used to go with seem not to be interested anymore when I stumbled onto a small group of chaps calling themselves the Over Sixties Ski Club. The main thing I ran into was that trying to kickstart my ski career, was the dreaded Single room supplement but what these guys do is latch on to last minute 'deals' then pair you up with a roomy so you book independently and then meet up with a few others at the chosen chalet. The downside was that they only seem to operate out of Gatwick airport and I'm in darkest Essex, but it really was great to get my ski legs back ... can't wait for next season!!
Later this afternoon it's the World Cup game between Scotland and England at Hampden Park, Glasgow I remember when these teams battled it out every year and especially in 1967 when we beat the World Cup winners of 1966. The great JIM BAXTER even did keepy uppy in the game. 51 years on it's still mentioned The divide still exists now as it did then and the general election showed. FREEDOM
What is happening to rugby players, I have just been watching Wales v South Africa, two very powerful teams, spent all their time standing around and tying shoe laces, slow. If they had put a spurt on they could have won many more points, what do I say? Pah!
Although I live in the U.K. I got hooked on baseball about 20 years ago whilst visiting Toronto and have returned on a number of occasions to watch the Blue Jays, as well as attending games in Boston, Seattle, Anaheim and Tokyo. I subscribe to mlb.tv so am able to keep up with what is going on. Are there any other baseball fans on the forum?
