Whilst I am generally pleased with the change up from WIN 7 to WIN 10 there were a few things that were problematical ... the first was that my wireless dongle ceased to work leaving me unable to connect to the internet ... I had to run an Ethernet cable to the router to get back online and research the problem ... many people had the same problem ... there was nothing wrong with my wireless dongle but now it was incompatible with WIN 10 ... I do not wish to advertise the make of the new dongle that is compatible in case that is against FORUM policy but if anyone wants to know then send me a PM ...

If you are fed-up with using Windows with all its problems and continual updates and security problems, why not switch to using a Linux distro. There are lots of distros which will give you a similar interface to your old familiar Windows interface, or for those who want to try something new, there are more exciting distros. A good place to start would be with Ubuntu Mate or Linux Mint Cinnamon. Both are easy to install and have included all the applications that you would need for your everyday computing. You can even use them alongside your existing Windows, and oof course they are all free.

Do you use Windows 8? How do you find it compared to Windows 7?

Hello I am new on here but I am wondering if anyone out there can guide me on the consequences of Windows XP stopping. Does that mean I can no longer use my laptop due to the security risk
