you would like to chat I am a good listener, and can have a chat about
most things. I love to travel to far flung places, and have been to many
countries in East and South Africa, and am off to Cape Town on the 2nd
of October for a couple of weeks and it will be my 14th visit since 2002.
I have only been to the USA on one occasion and that was when I was
17 and in the Army, we went to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, I really
enjoyed the visit, but expect that it was because I was so young. Well I
had better not ramble on, so will finish off for now, By the way forgot to
mention that I live in Southampton in the South of England, all best of
wishes, Terry.
My name is Pam and I live in Tennessee..USA... I was very glad to hear from you. And your age makes no difference to me... however I have always had a preference for older men.
I have never traveled out it the USA...I have only been to a few states... although I would love to travel... I have three grown children..a son and two daughters. and four grandchildren.... I enjoy reading... writing... drawing.....and I hope to one day see the ocean.
Thank you again for writing I hope we can continue.. have a great day. Pam
my message, it has been a busy couple of days over here with the
Jubilee celebrations for our Queen, so that's been the main talking
point in the newspapers and on the TV, it has been a holiday here,
lasting until Monday, so not over just yet, I wonder if there was any
coverage of the events on the TV over in the States. I have never
married, so have no children, but I have 4 sisters and 3 brothers, so
a large family. I am the oldest, and when I was 17 I joined the Army,
I think most of the reason I joined up was to get away from all the
commotion in the household, as there were 10 of us in a 3 bedroom
house. I served for 12 years, and was posted abroad on many
occasions, and that put me off getting married, as would have been
away for months at a time. Have traveled for most of my life, even
after I left the Army, have been lucky to have visited 42 countries
so far, my favourite places are nearly all in Africa, and I tend to go
back there time after time, have not traveled too much in Europe,
but may start to do so, as am getting older, and traveling long haul
is a bit of a bind, and my travel insurance premium goes through
the roof. I also enjoy reading, my favourite author was Wilbur Smith,
he sadly died last year aged 85, so he had a good time on Earth.
I also love nature and wildlife, hence my love of Africa, well had
better not waffle on too much as will get you bored, so take care
of yourself, and all here if you wish to continue chatting, all best
wishes, stay safe, Terry.
I was very glad to hear from you. Sounds like you come from a large family too...I have seven sisters..no brothers..I am next to the the youngest. I have been married twice.. neither one worked out so I just mainly spend time with my blue healer ..Diamond...she is my baby. I think another thing we have in common is being animal lovers.
I haven't seen anything about The Queen here....I bet it is just lovely. I would love to visit England...
I live a quite life.... I love to cook.... I suppose you could say that I am old fashioned.
I hope you enjoy your festivities ...take care Pam
sorry to hear that you have been unlucky with your marriages, I chose
not to marry, I suppose I am a little bit selfish, and didn't want to be tied
down, I have no regrets, but as you get older you sometimes wonder
what might have been, but to late to change anything. Forgive my total
ignorance, but is your blue healer a dog? I have not heard of the breed,
don't have any pets myself, as once again, I love to get away whenever
I can, and a pet restricts what you can do, unless you know someone
who could look after it while you are away. My sister has two little dogs,
they are a cross between a Jack Russel and a Pug, they are 9 years old,
and are sisters, I look after them when my sister and her husband go on
holiday, I am doing that in August while they are on a cruise around
Canada and Alaska, so will have my work cut out, as they are lap dogs
and want attention all the time, still it is only once in a while so don't
mind. I live in a one bedroom flat ( apartment ) in a retirement building
here in Southampton, so have the best of both worlds, as I can mingle
with other residents in our lounge, or keep myself to myself if I want a
bit of peace and quiet. One thing that we don't have in common is a
love of cooking, I am next to useless, so eat a lot of ready meals that I
only have to put in the microwave, not that healthy I know, so do on
occasion make an effort. I hope that one day you can get to travel a
bit, I am lucky at my age that I am still fit and active, so I try to get away
as much as I can, providing I can save enough from my pension, and
there are no more travel restrictions due to the covid pandemic. Well
once again had better finish off, it's 5.45 pm over here, so don't know
what the time difference is over there, so cheerio for, stay safe and
message again any time you want, will always reply, Terry.
I hope all is well and you a.re still enjoying the festivities there.. You sound like a well mannered gentleman...I keep imagining your accent...LOL..as for me I suppose you can say I have one of those real southern accents.... The weather here in Tennessee is rather hot and humid...I love winter myself...the snow the cold...and rain...yes.. thunderstorms....so calming...so beautiful.
A blue healer...is like an Australian shepherd....but my Diamond is a bit smaller... And it does sound like you will have your hands full with your sister's fur babies...like I said I am am animal lover...
It's great that you have the best of both worlds...so to speak whether to mingle or not. I can still walk freely .. I just have some trouble getting started...some days because of a back injury. I don't drink any alcohol, smoke, or do any drugs. I think I could live in the water though... I love to swim.
I was wondering if there was a way of sending me a picture of you... I am still learning how to send messages on here.
Well take care...Hugs. Pam

Pam
I sent you am email I hope you got it. My email is [email protected].
I was able to put up a profile picture of me on here I hope you can see it if not maybe we could email some pictures to each other.
Have a wonderful day. Pam
life so far, didn't get married and have kids like you did, was my
choice so no regrets, took advantage of the freedom to do a bit of
traveling, so can't complain, as I have seen a bit of the world, and
visited quite a few interesting places. I live in Southampton, in a
retirement block of flats, so have company if I want it and peace and
quiet if I don't, so best of both worlds. It's a bit grey and overcast here today, so hope that we get a bit of sunshine later on today. Well
have a few things to do, so had better finish off for now, if you would
like to chat via e-mail, my address is [email protected], take
care, best wishes, Terry.
After deliberating for a few weeks I finally decided to join this site, so far so good. How is it you have found yourself here?
I am in the UK and happy to chat.
It's very hard when you lose someone and you have to learn to carry on without them.

I'm glad you had a good Easter break, the last film I saw at cinema was Bob Marley a couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed it.
On Saturday we went on a coach trip for the day to Southport,it bought back memories from when I was a child and we had holidays their

We did have a dog but we lost him a few years and I just couldn't face having another. I have tortoise it was my mom's but when she couldn't look after him anymore she asked me to have him. We live in Dudley so not far away from you. We went Southport about two months. I like to walk along the river bank.
Take care
Thanks for your reply,oh you live in Dudley,no it's not far from us,I haven't been that way for a long time, used to go to merry hill sometimes.
You don't hear much about people having tortoise now they used to be very popular when I was young,I'm 59 by the way.
We had a tortoise but it escaped under the fence.
Do you have any family,we don't have any children just 2 of us.
Where do you like to go for your holidays
We are going to Bournemouth for a few days next month,we like to go abroad out of season like February and October when it's quieter and cooler but still warmer than UK.
I don't work now,do you work,I look after my elderly mom now she doesn't have any one else.
Hope you have a nice evening, from Ann
I lost my mom 16 months ago like you I was looking after her. I lost my dad 12 years ago. I have a son and two grand children. I am still at work at the moment. We some time go abroad but the last year we have had holidays in this country. I like great Yarmouth wales and the lake district.
We do have some lovely places in this country but sometimes it's the weather. I don't mind the cold it's the rain ☔.
Good night
I'm sorry to hear you lost your mom quite recently,I don't know how my life would be when anything happens to mom as I spend a lot of time with her and I don't have any other family.
I lost my dad 27 years ago,he had to sudden fatal heart attack.
I like holidays in the UK also, I love Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads and I like mid Wales and the West Wales coast it's just as you said if only we got the weather.
We are going to Bournemouth for a few days the end of next month and hoping to do some sightseeing around the new forest area.
It's lovely you have a son and 2 grandchildren,I expect they keep you occupied.
My husband works full time at a garden centre, he's 60 now.
I hope you have a nice day today and speak soon
Take care Ann x
I am finding it very hard without my mom we did everything together just like the relationship you have with your mom. My son and grandchildren they keep me very busy there always something going on .I love plants but I don't have green fingers I bet your husband loves his job and he's good with plants.
Have a list tomorrow.
Take care.
Yes I can imagine it's very hard for you missing your mom,
I speak to mom every day either in person or on the phone.
I'm taking mom out today, she doesn't go far now as she's 94 and her health and mobility are very poor, but she does like me to take her out in the wheelchair 2 or 3 times a week we only stay local, sometimes we go to Morrisons and have a snack in the cafe or we go to a garden centre.
How old was your mom when she passed away,if you don't mind me asking.
My husband does enjoy working with the plants and I love visiting garden centres and going to a few flower shows although the coach trips to flower shows are getting really expensive now so I don't do as many as we used to.
My husband doesn't drive but I do but I don't drive on motorways.
Can I ask your name please, and as you are known as pisces is your birthday in February or march,I'm a pisces also, I was 59 on the 24th February.
I joined a local friendship group recently but there are only 3 of us we try to meet up once a month for a lunch somewhere,we are meeting this Saturday,it's a bit difficult to organise sometimes as the ladies are very busy with helping family with grandchildren and work commitments but it's nice when we can meet up for a chat.
Well I hope you have a nice day today, and I hope the weather will be good this weekend.
Take care, from Ann
Just like you I saw my mom everyday we would go shopping together and go out for meals or just a coffee
My birthday is in March just like you I am a Pisces.
I do like going to garden centers the only trouble not very good with looking after the plants that I buy..
I go to a couple of keep fit classes and the girls are all lovely. I do like to keep busy.
Take care and have a lovely week.
Anita
I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.
It's really wet and blustery here today,I'm going to mom's soon she wants to go to Morrisons in her chair, she just likes to have a bacon Sarnie in the cafe their.
I went to Lichfield yesterday, met a couple of ladies I know and we had a meal at a restaurant their,we usually meet up about once a month.
It's nice you go to keep fit class and the ladies are nice their,I wish their were more classes or social groups round by us but there's nothing only the one floral class I go to in Walsall and they close for all the school holidays.
Which garden centres do you like to visit, have you been to the ashwood centre at Kingswinford that's really nice, not to mention the lovely tea rooms and all the yummy cakes lol
I hope you have a nice day today, take care from Ann
Yes the weekend has been very blustery and wet I do hope it will calm down a bit.
It lovely to hear that you are taking your mom out for a bacon sandwich I bet she looks forward to it.
It great to meet up with friends and have a chat it's something to look forward to.
I do some time go to Ashwoods garden centre and I love their tea room. The other place I go to is Cherry Lane Bromsgove they have a nice tea room as well.
Went to Birmingham today to Ford Dunlop shopping centre it was very busy. Must say not a lover of Birmingham.
Still trying to get around this site it's not that straightforward.
Take care.
Anita
I haven't been to the garden centre at Bromsgrove.
My husband has Mondays off work and we are going to Trentham garden centre tomorrow,we like it their plenty to look at and we usually have a meal at the Toby carvery in Trentham village while we are their.
I find it hard to find my message on this site to,I have to go through a long list of other messages before I find mine,if you would like my email address anytime I can give it to you if it's easier.
I'm going to book a day trip next week with one of the ladies I met up with yesterday,a local coach company does mystery day trips twice a month for 18 pounds, they don't go to far usually within 80 miles they are good value and it saves me driving.
My parents used to have friends at brierley hill years ago and we used to visit all the little towns around the area when we went to visit them.
I like to go to bilston market, it's only a small town but the people are friendly and I usually find some bargains on the market.
We don't go to Birmingham now, I've gone off it since a lot of the shops have closed down in the bullring and I preferred the old outdoor market I think the soul has gone out of the place now and all the places we used to go for lunch have closed down since covid
Are you going away on holiday this year,we are going to Bournemouth the end of may for a few days.
Hope you have a good week,Ann x
I have never been to Trenham garden centre I might try that one.
I have heard about mystery coach trips but never been on one. I hope you both have a great day and that price is really good. It's a nice change not to drive and you be about to sit back and let someone else do the driving.
Bilston market I use to take my mom and we would pop into Morrisons not been for a while.
We are going to the Lake District and Port Isaac this year.
On this site you can do private chats and you don't have to go though a long list. Still trying to find out how to do it.I will keep looking and let you know.
Enjoy the rest of the evening and have a great week.
Anita
Oh I hope you enjoy the lakes and port Isaac, that's where they filmed doc Martin isn't it
We like to go abroad in February and October,we went to the Algarve for my birthday in February that was lovely and we are going to Cyprus in October, during the summer we usually do short breaks in UK
I always go in Morrisons at bilston I always park on their car park and do a bit of shopping in their
I sometimes go in their cafe or debs diner near the market.
If you discover the setting for private chats please let me know, I've been on this site for a few years but only started looking at it regularly recently
I write to a few penfriends from global penfriend site also

I'm sure you would like Trentham garden centre there's plenty to look at and a little shopping village in the grounds.
I'm sure you will enjoy Cornwall, lovely scenery and also in the lakes,do you go self catering or do you stay in hotel
We got 2 good deals for our 2 holidaya abroad we booked early when there were discounts available
We wouldn't go abroad in summer be to hot and much more expensive.
We have 3 cats so we have a pet sitter comes in twice a day to feed them.
Have to organise extra carer's for mom also when we go away it' involves a lot of planning when we go away lol
Sleep well, goodnight Ann x
I'm down in Cheshire. Allan
I think I drive my husband mad when he gets home from work as he is the only person I see face to face
lol. I also get what you are saying about driving your husband mad!
Keep busy trying to keep a house and gardens looking respectable and have two little mutts that love walking on different trails in the bush every day with me.
I love typing and miss working.
Our bodies keep reminding us of our age but our brains refuse to believe it.
Would very much like pen pals. Any takers?
I'm in England and would be interested in chatting with you.
I am an active 78 yr old although the winter months I find slow me down a little I hate having nothing to do and cannot wait for the spring when I can get back into the garden.
Happy New Year
Cecilia
I agree with you I cannot find a actual chat place.
I am new looking for some new friends. Female live in Chicago IL. Where are you from? Would love to hear from you.
I am a new member female, looking for new friends. I live in Chicago, IL
Would love to hear from you.
Dealers have to sell 34% electric vehicles by 2028
43% by 2029 and 60% by 2o3o
I"m wondering if any other country is doing this?
I'm also wondering how everyone will be able to afford these electric vehicles.
I personally don't know anyone who can afford electric cars right now.
The average working Joe hasn't inherited money from thier parents like most politicians. have.
Anyone care to comment on this issue?
I was beginning to wonder if anyone was interested.
I thought I would try to stimulate a bit of chat.
Where are you that most drive Electric vehicles. Here in Canada there are not that many as they are very expensive and our country is so vast that we have hundreds of miles between towns so we would be very apprehensive about traveling.
The town that I am in is about 70 miles from Vancouver. Many drive that much everyday to and from work and charging stations are few and far between,.
With the cost of housing these days most here are really struggling to get by.
I'm sure it would be very difficult for them to make high car payments as well but I guess that's the way the world is going. I think things are going to get very difficult to say the least.
I'm new to this site and am surprised that there is no chat other than everyone saying they would like to chat
