Hello Emberton1946. I too am looking to find someone with whom to talk/correspond I am female, 78 years old, and realise that, yet again, I have not spoken to a single soul all day. I cannot help but wonder, does your voice, like the rest of you, atrophy with lack of use. If so, it would appear that, I am going to have to consider relearning sign-language in the near future!

Let me be honest from the outset, I am a married man but stress that I am not looking for a 'bit on the side' but someone to genuinely talk to.

I'm not lonely in the same way as you are - alone - but lonely in that I don't get talked to but talked at.

Obviously not being alone means that I can only chat occasionally, and am happy to do so as long as you know the truth. If you're uncomfortable with this then please tell me and I will not bother you again.

A lot of us are groping in the dark...usually lost....trying to find our way back to continue a conversation but don't always manage it! So you are not alone! Whereabouts in Scotland? I have been to Edinburgh and Crief for holidays and driven across country - but many years ago. Some of my ancestors came from Sotland...and I am 16% Sots if I remember right from my Ancestry DNA. Mostly NorthWest Yorkshire - but surprisingly bits of Scandinavia and even further east in Europe towards Poland and Russia. Traced my great Grandmothers line right back to 1000...so he may have come across with William the Conquerer and then settled in Cheshire! Amazing...I love things like that!

Good morning. Or afternoon or evening. I have no idea the time difference between east coast USA and Scotland.

I'm new also. Just created this account 5 minutes ago and I'm hoping to find folks who can help to fill this growing void in my life post retirement. I've seen to have fallen into a rut. Partly due to the grey, cold winter weather that has forced me inside for what seems an eternity.

Hi. I'm Leila from London England. I've just joined today so I'll tell you a bit about myself. I'm 83 years young. I lost my husband in October 2021 so I'm having to get used to living on my own. Well me and my cat. I've got 2 sons,5 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren.
I play a lot of Scrabble on line. A bit addictive. I love the ballet,listening to music, doing crosswords and reading. My boys ( my eldest is 60 and my baby is 58) have been amazing since losing my husband. We'd been married over 60 years so it's a lot to get over.
It would be great to meet new people on line. Hopefully have lots to share.
