Tibialis Posterier Dysfunction. (Torn Tendons in feet)

Hello, I am new to Silver Surfers and wondered if anyone can give me any advice on the above problem. It started around just over two years ago with hard bumps on the top of one foot which was painful at times but that seemed to get better but the pain moved to the inner side of my foot, also at the ankle and along side and under foot. The other one soon developed the same problem. I was told at first it was arthritis but an MRI showed that there was almost no arthritis but I did have a lot of torn tendons. I only had the Scan done on the one foot as at the time the other one was fine. Although I don't have throbbing pain it feels just like severe inflammation, which, of course it is. I like to go walks, but now this is not so possible. I take the usual inflammation pills and painkillers but this doesn't seem to help, just makes me constipated. I would like to know if any other readers have experienced the same problem and how they cope with it. Thanks. Scottish Lady.

I suffered with a similar problem last year. The podiatrist said I had fallen arches, which were causing stretching of the tendons, and giving me the pain. She suggested I needed inserts in my shoes to correct the balance in my feet. This has completely cured the problem!

Hello Wendy, Thanks for your reply. I should have said that my problem was caused by overpronation which caused my arches to fall. I have been wearing orthotics in my shoes for around two years now and no doubt it will prevent me from overpronating which will help a bit and stop it getting worse but it certainly hasn't cured the problem. I seemingly have a lot of torn tendons.
Am always happy to receive any suggestions.
Thanks again.
