Anybody thinking of retiring to another country?
Watch this postI am a Canadian citizen, retired, female, and searching for a country to retire in Europe or Asia, even Africa, where the sidewalks are without ice and the housing will not take 3/4 of my income! It would be nice to have a straight female moving with me to settle as neighbours in a strange country.

My wife and I were in exactly the same situation a few years back in England and we think you should consider Ireland.
We live near a place called Belleek in Fermanagh, which is technically in the UK but close to the Donegal Border.
There are loads of non Irish here about 25 %, the houses are very affordable and in fact a friend of mine lived in Ontario for 30 yrs and he has settled here. The Irish are very welcoming and we live 10 mins from a 7 mile beach one way and 10 mins from the mountains the other way.
The community life is wonderful , me and my wife could be out 7 nights a week at various pastimes if we chose too.
Being right on the border of the UK and The Republic of Ireland we are very spoilt and the life here is so wonderful and the people so friendly and welcoming that you wont need to move with anyone else if you don't want.
