Hello in the Lockdown
Watch this postHello, I just joined here cos I am all alone in the lockdown and it is kind of scary.
I have three adult children but right now can't see them and it tears you up.
So I thought it would be good to find others in this strange time and chat.
I live in Kent and have lovely walks around me which go on but sadly both my doggies passed away last year and does anyone here walk alone and get funny looks?
Nevertheless, I do walk but have to be careful not to be social! Just a wave and a smile.

Ive been at home since then. Shopping and Medicines were ordered online and delivered fortunately for me,
I havent been anywhere till last Friday 21st Aug when I went and fitted a new battery, delivered from Halfords, to my little old car. She started first time and after a bit of manuvering in the bungalows private carpark to make sure things were working properly I drove up the road to a local park. and sent messages to my family who live about an hours drive away that I planned to drive over to see them on Saturday afternoon. It did feel strange seeing people in the streets and also other cars on the roads. At the height of the lockdown it had been very quite in the area I live. I arrived at my Ex wife number 1 house and my daughter and my son also arrived with their partners and brought the dogs who I have really missed seeing as well. We all stayed in the garden with a reasonable distance between us and enjoyed being able to see each other again. We spent about 3 hours together chatting then all made our way home. Its really helped me getting out as I was starting to go very frightened of actually leaving the house so it has done me good and made me realise that there is still a world out there, as long as we are sensible and take precautions when we venture out there.

It says "add your comment" so i don't know if thats the same as "reply" as in most forums.
Either way, I am a fit 79 yr old, happily married but always willing to chat, have a laugh, help in any way, just respond to this post. I don't know my way around this forum yet as it's laid out differently, any advice is welcome.

My name is Phil and your right about this moment in time being strange and how do we best cope just to get through each day, there's only so much TV you want to watch, i have found that i am using my phone a lot more than i used to talking to not only my closest friends and family but also ex work colleagues, I've just completed over the past few months over 50 computer jigsaws which are installed in windows 10, i hope for you Ellie and the thousands out there in the same boat that its not to long before a vaccine is found and we can get back to some kind of normality.
Take care Ellie and stay safe

just joined today and am hoping to use this site to reach out to people too
you take care and keep smiling
I have taken to baking easy cakes to pass the time and it's nice to share them with the neighbours ....still keeping the social distance though.
My dog Holly is a great comfort to me since I lost my husband. .have you thought about getting another dog?
I find when I go for my walk most people are quite friendly if you smile at them.
If you want to chat that would be nice
Stay safe
Kate
Unless they live alone, people have no idea how lonely it can be. My flat is thankfully on the ground floor, at least I can lean out of my window and people watch. Some say hello to me, some ask if I am ok, some even ask if I need any shopping but most just glare at me and walk on - this I do not understand.
Looking at the positive side, we will get through this and hopefully our lives will get back to normal. Good luck to you all !
