Just joined so I'm introducing myself.
Watch this postI will be 67 next month and retired from the many different jobs in my working life. I guess that I didn’t ever find my calling. I went to university at age 59 but when it was over it was too late to launch a new career. I wanted to lecture but students don’t want to listen to old fogies, so sadly I put aside that idea and settled into life as an eccentric dog owner.
I live in a beautiful Lancashire valley surrounded by hills that demand they be walked/climbed, how could I refuse?
I would like to do a bit of cycle touring but a recent diagnosis of spondylosis and some hip pain means that I may not be doing a world tour anytime soon!
I’m keen to make some friends as I have been on my own for a very long time now, my daughters don’t bother much with me and I don’t have a partner.I didn’t expect to be so isolated at this time in my life, isn’t it strange the way family and friends seem to forget us when we get past 60?
I will pop in regularly and hope to strike up some friendships.

Not much family to call upon and none close by, a few good friends but all with family/partners. Am happy with my own company and getting more so, but sometimes it's nice to be having a coffee and a catch up.
Have an eclectic taste in music, enjoy going to gigs (especially on a school night!), listening to recorded music, finding new artists/bands to enjoy.
Enjoy wandering in the countryside, usually with my camera for company - which makes me poor comapny for anyone with me not with a camera. Avebury walks on Christmas or Boxing day are becoming a tradition.
Have been interested in cars, planes, bikes from an early age and am on the committee for a car club of which I was a founder member back in 1990. Have some long term friends from this, but mostly see them at car related events.
Want to be able to play the guitar but attempts so far have sounded like I have two left feet.

I have two daughters and three grandchildren and I’m fortunate we are a close family. I’m married and hope we can travel again to England. My husband loved Wales.
Hope to hear from someone who would love to share the news from the UK. Glad I looked into this site!!
I joined 5 minutes ago. You are my first chat! I was really just tapping around to get started and found your post. Yes, we tend to lose touch with people and things as time passes. I live in the Lehigh Valley but will be moving in a few months—not too far but someplace quieter and greener for myself and my dog. Since retiring I have been painting, quilting and reading but not meeting many new people. In any event, I liked your post and wanted to drop you a line. This was not quite as hard as I thought it would be.

A bit about me, how can I not make this sound boring? My name is Colin, divorced, retired and living on my own..
I have three daughters, two of them still speak to me. Four grand kids, two of each variety.
I try to play the electic keyboard, so far the keyboard is winning.
My fingers refuse to go where I want them too.
I use to play guitar in a duo, guitat and drums but that has been a while now.
I use to farm for a living, well to be honest I tried lots of different occupations. But farming was my life until retirement.
The nearest town you will have heard of is Skegness. It's eight miles away.
I've kept this short in case you've fallen asleep.
Keep safe Colin
I'm 68 and looking to find email pals with similar interests.
I like walking, mountains and dog training
