Mental Health Awareness week

As it's Mental Health Awareness week, I just wanted to extend a friendly "Hello" to all. It's good to talk and is often the first step to making things better.

Hello Old Whiskers,
I'm really sorry for the delay in replying to you, it couldn't be helped. Thank you for your response, I would normally be attending a couple of groups that are aimed specifically at more mature adults who maybe feel isolated, anxious or just want to have a cuppa and a chat. I know from personal experience just how much talking with others can lift your spirits and help you feel you're not alone. It's good to hear that you get out and about walking your dog, they're great companions and will always give you a reason to get some fresh air!
I'm so sorry to hear you lost your wife, but I'm sure you have many treasured memories and talking about her must bring great comfort. Recounting happy times is a really positive way to help get through difficult days.
I am new to this site too, as my groups have not yet restarted, I was only too pleased when my daughter suggested giving this a go and maybe finding some new friends. Perhaps we can chat again, hopefully you will find my reply. Wishing you a good afternoon, take care.

Hi Chris
Thank you for getting back to me, as you can see I tend to 'pop in and out' at the moment as I'm actually recovering from a recent surgery and don't always feel up to it just yet. I'm relatively new to this site too and still navigating my way around. I don't purport to be as wise as you, but recognise that talking to people does indeed open the floodgates. I can open a one to one chat if you'd like to talk more. Take care. Elaine (Freetobeme)

Hello again Chris, "Thank you" for your kind words, glad to hear all's going well after your eye surgery. I'm going to try and open the one to one facility now (my first attempt), all being well I'll catch up with you soon. Have a good evening. Elaine.
